Workflow
- New courses and changes to existing courses go through the full review workflow (diagram of full workflow)
- Proposals to change only schedule type, crosslisting, or campus go through the expedited review process (diagram of expedited workflow)
Required Information
- Course details
- Complete all mandatory fields (boxes outlined in red) in the course proposal.
- Liaisons
- At least three liaisons are required
- One Academic Liaison must be from outside the college associated with the Originating Academic Unit.
- The remaining liaisons can be from within the college but must be outside the Originating Academic Unit.
- At least three liaisons are required

- Syllabus
- Must meet the syllabus minimum requirements policy
- If a course is offered in multiple campus locations or modalities, only one syllabus must be submitted with the proposal. (This rule is different for Core Ed courses.)
- Syllabus templates: On campus course and Ecampus online or Hybrid course
Approval Deadline
New course proposals must be approved by the end of week 6 of the term prior to when the course is taught. Course change proposals must be approved by May 1 for the changes to take effect the following catalog year. See the catalog year policy for details.
Hybrid Programming Offered at the Portland Center
To propose an individual course to be developed and scheduled for hybrid delivery at the Portland Center, visit the Ecampus Course Proposal page and indicate that the course will be an Ecampus hybrid-Portland Center course in the form. Once approved for development as a hybrid course by Ecampus, please submit a course proposal in CIM.

CPS Archive
The Curriculum Proposal System (CPS) archive contains program (major, minor, option, certificate) and course proposals submitted between 2001 and November 2019, with the exception of new program proposals submitted before 2010.
